Show HN: K8sman – A Native Kubernetes IDE

Hi HN, k8sman is a native lighter-weight Kubernetes IDE.

It’s a Flutter GUI on top of a Go backend that works with client-go and your existing kubeconfig. Nothing installed in the cluster and no telemetry whatsoever.

Just some of the features I think are unique:

- Low footprint (~ 50% RSS compared to Lens on the same cluster)

- Inspector panels for 30+ kinds that explain what's wrong (a crash-looping pod shows its exit code, termination message and a link to the previous instance's logs)

- Customisable views with a compact query language (status!=Running restarts>3 age<1h), with sortable, resizable and reorderable columns that persist per kind

- Streamed logs with searching, pod terminals, alerts, port-forwards that persist across pod restarts, and local shell with kubectl that follows the cluster you look at

- Helm history with diffs between revisions, rollbacks and dry-run upgrades

- Read-only mode per context (enabled by default for everything that looks like prod)

- Integrated with Argo CD, Prometheus, Trivy image scanning (but works just as well without!)

Builds for macOS, Windows and Linux. Apache 2.0.

This is cool man, I have always been into TUI, my goto option was and still is k9s, but this looks neat

Thanks! k9s is great, and I've used it for years. k8sman isn't trying to replace it. It's aimed at the things I found awkward in the terminal like quickly flicking through long lists of resources, getting pod specific Prometheus metrics, managing ArgoCD and Helm releases etc. I'd be curious what you think if you give it a go, especially anything you'd miss from k9s.

I hope it is easy to use and doesn't consume much resources. in k9s I love how quick it is switch through panes using commands followed by : or quick to search through /, even though it is GUI, I would recommend trying to make it as much easier to use via keyboard shortcuts as possible, if possible try to use the same commands k9s has, or take vim for example, this would help fuse both audiences, the k9s lovers and the k8lens users.
