If you're going to ask such things, at least link to WTF you're talking about:

[flagged] Jared Kushner Hacked Phone Reveals Secret Negotiations, Millions in Transactions (vanityfair.com)

557 points | 8 days ago | 241 comments https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50201259

and the easy answer is because a small number of users like yourself chose to click on [flag] - eight days ago.

I can guess because it's mostly political, but you really should ask yourself why you think I would know their reasons.

You have a 2007 account FFS - why are you asking strangers why other strangers do things after 20 years on HN ?

well, not necessarily you, but you did attempt to explain why yet left out the meat of my question

The meat of your question goes to TP/IP (telepathy over the internet) and the supposed wisdom of the crowd.

When someone posts "why was this flagged" or "why did this disappear so quickly from the front page" it makes me think of De Niro driving alone in the final scene of Taxi Driver.

Not to pick on this post in particular. The gold medal for such comments was a John Gruber blogpost accusing HN of blackballing him. As a runner up, there are the requisite accusatory comments on every flagged Israel post.

flagged is different from uninteresting. gruber indulging conspiracies before considering that he might be uninteresting outside his audience is pretty travis bickle-y. i am asking why a phone hack concerning a major political figure would be irrelevant or uninteresting to hn.
