I don't understand how this phenomena of employees publicly criticizing the companies that they work for -- primarily on political grounds no less -- has come to be tolerated by those companies. This sort of thing used to be grounds for instant termination.

Some US states have laws protecting employees’ political speech, so it would be illegal to terminate them and they would be entitled to sue.
