Feels very similar to Stellar 7. Except the tanks divide when hit.

I'm not familiar with Stellar 7, but from a gameplay video it does look somewhat similar. Funny you should mention tanks, because that same day I had Claude build a Battlezone-inspired tank game: https://linsomniac.github.io/tankzone/

This is probably an F-Droid issue, but as a user, what matters for me is the end-to-end experience, and the end-to-end experience is "I can't play it":

Tried installing it from F-Droid, stuck for a while on "Waiting to start download", at some point some toast about 404 that I couldn't read as quickly as it disappeared...

At this point, I associate open source with this kind of experience, and it doesn't motivate me to act on the countless "OMG Android is locking open source out" banners I encountered during the process..

(Yes, I know that I could probably download the APK and install it manually, but I've already fiddled with this more than I want to fiddle with something that's supposed to be entertaining, not frustrating.)

so, it's quite possible you just have the wrong corner of the internet; for me it did take a bit to download (I assume hug of death); but also, you might just have one of those bad IPs the world is trying to ban.

Omg it's a Asteroids Vampire Survivors, that's such a good idea! Love seeing android apps distributed independently too. Excited to play!

The game itself looks fun!

The copy is awful. Which I suppose is expected at this point. It reads like the same Claude-ified marketing site slop we get in every third HN post. Why couldn't the author(s) spend the five minutes it would take to give this just a hint of personality? Do they think it's good enough?

Good enough for what? Certainly good enough to direct people to the correct links for their platform.

And, to me at least, to signal ahead of time that it’s a Claude-flavored game. Personally I’m not much for those (I don’t really snack on games) but I know people who enjoy burning through them. And “Claude-game” does feel like a steadily-more-coherent genre, with its own aesthetic language and high- and low-quality examples.

But of course it all comes back to the same old open-source questions. Is it marketing if you’re not selling anything? Does somebody have to be good at—or care about—writing or marketing in order to share their GPL game with the public for free?

I really think the way Claude writes now is beyond tolerable. It makes me actually angry. I wish i knew how to articulate it, and maybe its just reaching a tipping point because its been so many months of daily usage but its really awful and I think a lot of people are starting to feel the same.

We have this incredible piece of technology that has consumed much more literature than imaginable but it insists on this corporate-therapist writing style which is obsessed with accountability.
