The article has little to no details, I seem to have found the company’s website which is also cagey.

This article mentions these yellow devices, but I can’t find any proper details.

Perhaps they don’t want to scare away those people who know which way up to stand a Bunsen burner.

If it is trivially simple technology, I’m guessing many would be able to figure it out.

Is it just small amounts of electric potential to change the surface boundary layer?

I daresay people with ornamental fish ponds are ahead on this.
