Most successful scam in history. In awe at the gullibility of the entirety of investment/business media. (And, concerned for the sake of working class folks retirement accounts that are bound to get sucked up into Musk's maelstrom of bullshit, because of the fast track rule change in the Nasdaq 100 and Russell 1000.)

This is not going to end well.

Fake money in a fake economy to buy out real companies.

There's one real thing in the form of retirement funds from the working class people.

South Sea Bubble part 2. I guess that's one way to break the gridlock and make history, as much as I hate to admit it.

Can we not consider this a meme stock that the entire traditional banking system is endorsing?

I still remember when Amazon was a meme stock that everyone shit on for not making profit.

Not “everyone”, it was clear to many that Amazon was continuously reinvesting into the business for perpetual growth.

SpaceX has a tiny revenue compared to its market cap.

During SpaceX's first earnings report call, they'll announce a loss, but Musk will make outlandish statements, and the stock will pop.

I was sceptical of Amazon early on too. But they had a couple of things going for them that SpaceX doesn't have: one was a huge potential market. People were already buying books, Amazon made it easy to do from your home, with next day delivery. The other was that Amazon had no competition in that space, nobody else was doing online ordering with next day delivery. It wasn't obvious that customers would prefer to shop that way though.

In the case of SpaceX, their potential market is users of AI. This market is small now, but could potentially grow. And they have large competitors in this space. What can they offer that the others don't? As for their other businesses, they are ahead in launch, but there are other potential competitors, and it's not that big a market. Communications, the one business where they are making a profit, has lots of large competitors. Their only moat there is areas where it is too expensive to run fiber, which means mostly mobile applications and remote areas.

I mean these are both valid for SpaceX also, take out the execution and technological difficulty. There is a huge potential market in space, and they're is practically no competition

> There is a huge potential market in space

Is there? Most of their launches (like 90%+) are Starlink + there is high demand to not to use US technology because you may get banned when administration is not feeling the vibe today.

It is not like SpaceX can open space port in Europe or China to bypass US regulations. While Amazon pretty much can.
