As Oracle loses interest in MySQL, devs mull future options

Percona [1] mentioned in the article have commercially supported their fork of MySQL for quite some time. It's free to use but they offer support if required. It is used by many large companies and I know the DBA's have had great experience with it at two large companies I worked at. Percona have some really sharp people.
