Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD was formerly "shell shock", "war nerves", "neurasthenia" and "combat neurosis" but renaming it did not make it any more pleasant to experience.

Renaming functions in an operating system does not change what they do but by all means call it cuddle_bunnies() if it makes one feel better. Just me personally, I would rather a function something that describes what it actually does instead of the anthropomorphic reductionist behavior of ascribing human conditions to an inanimate object resulting ultimately in a confusing junk yard of code.

Consider instead having an IDE that visually replaces terms with feel good words for the sensitive developers and then writes out the real terms that make sense to everyone else. The IDE would need to download a dictionary from a source of truth. The concept is not much different than a Firefox addon I use today.
